What
a fantastic show! Great comedians and an utterly brilliant compere.
The compere tonight, Michael
Legge, showed how important comperes are. He had
the audience howling with laughter 5 minutes into the gig. It
is few comperes who can do that to a stone sober and 'cold'
audience.
Michael Legge gets to grip with the audience
Left:
Jimmy Carr
had the audience in stitches with his quick fire one-line gags.
As someone said to me afterwards "that Jimmy was spot-on"
Right:
Daft Johnny Vader
- an act we got at the last minute with the description "he
dresses up as Darth Vader and does Bernard Manning jokes".
Well they were right about the Darth Vader suit, but his jokes
were alot funnier than BM's. Darth's problems down the supermarket
or why Han Solo doesn't use his real name of Reg.....well.....why
didn't somebody think of this act before
Above:
last minute replacement for Rev. Obladaih Steppenolf, Lenny
Bernstein - an amazing character of an American evangelistic
physcoanalysist- phew!
Right:
Comic genius Noel James.
I've seen Noel four times and he never fails to have the audience
in stitches. His act is always different....maybe he doesn't
plan it that way, but his ability to create surreal images based
on audience heckling is pure genius.
