Previous Show - 30th April 2002

A full house at the Cheeky Monkey Comedy Club saw some excellent new talent at the BBC New Comedy Awards - Midlands Heat. Compere for the evening was.....Geoff Whiting.

We will find out in two weeks which acts will go through but here are some of the acts:


1st act: Leon Osman - nervous, but very good


7th act: Nick Smith. Ahh...yes....now I really enjoyed this act. I can't remember why. The two pints of Tetley was clearly kicking in at the point....but I definately remember thinking "wow, this guy is great!"


The final act: Al Hutchins....feeding the ducks. Al is clearly the Captain Beefheart of comedy. Very talented, but an acquired taste.


2nd Act: Lawrence Inman. A great act from Kings Heath who has really polished his performance. Hopefully we will see more of him in the future.


3rd act: Kojo - came from London for this heat, and what a great act. He brimmed with confidence and someone whom I'm sure we will see alot of on the comedy circuit.
